KANSAS CITY, Mo.
(Reuters) – A 12-year-old girl who lost both her parents to brain cancers is reuniting with her mother, who was diagnosed with brain cancer earlier this year, in the middle of a classroom celebration, the family said on Monday.
Teacher and mother of the 12-month-old kindergartner said her mother’s cancer had spread to her brain.
The two are living in the same room with other students in a classroom where students celebrate when the teacher’s birthday comes, she said.
The girl is learning English and reading the school’s textbook, a first for a kindergarten teacher in the state of Missouri.
